2026.06.1714:05:52UTC+00US Natgas Prices Snap 3-Day Winning Streak

US natural gas prices fell more than 3% to $3.12 per MMBtu on Wednesday, snapping a three-session winning streak as traders reassessed demand prospects, weather patterns, and supply dynamics. Forecasts call for temperatures to remain above seasonal norms through July 1, a development that could bolster gas consumption by power generators as air conditioning use rises. At the same time, LNG export activity has cooled, with average gas flows to the nine major US LNG export terminals slipping to 17.0 billion cubic feet per day so far in June, reflecting seasonal maintenance at several sites, including ExxonMobil and QatarEnergy’s Golden Pass project and the Freeport LNG facility in Texas. On the supply side, domestic output has inched lower: US Lower 48 gas production is averaging 109.3 bcfd in June, down from 109.7 bcfd in May.
